Tough Deal is a team-building challenge that focuses on negotiation skills, which are critical for any business or organization. Negotiation is an essential skill that can help teams navigate difficult situations, resolve conflicts, and achieve their goals. By participating in the Tough Deal simulation, teams can learn how to negotiate effectively and achieve a win-win situation for all parties involved. 

The simulation is based on the concepts of BATNA (Best Alternative to a Negotiated Agreement) and ZOPA (Zone of Possible Agreement), which are commonly used in negotiation theory. BATNA refers to the best possible outcome a party can achieve if they do not reach an agreement, while ZOPA refers to the range of outcomes that both parties can accept in a negotiation. By understanding these concepts, teams can learn how to approach negotiations strategically and find mutually beneficial solutions. It’s a valuable tool for team activities for work, helping teams hone their negotiation skills and collaborate effectively.

Workshop Brief

During the simulation, teams are divided into different roles – cricket team owners and talent agencies – and given access to different sets of information. This creates a realistic scenario that requires effective communication and collaboration between the teams. The goal of the simulation is to find a mutually beneficial solution for all parties involved, which encourages teams to work together and find creative solutions.
